Naughty Gnome Sebastian and the Theft of the Lucky Lily.

Sebastian, while a happy gnome, was also a naughty gnome who had a sense of mischief. He could not find his yellow hat that brings happiness to all who see it. Nevertheless, he went to work at the baker as that’s where he decided to learn to make cakes.

“Put butter and sugar into a bowl, and after mixing well add two eggs, and some flour,” said the baker.

Unfortunately, he put too much flour and added chocolate chips instead of eggs before mixing it up and putting it into the oven. What came out after it was baked was a messed-up cake. He then ran away, before the baker could find him and the disastrous cake.

I know, he thought, I’ll help Geldof out in the vegetable patch. The baker won’t find me there.

So, he went to the vegetable patch and asked Geldof to tell him all about the plants there. Geldof pointed out the beetroot, peas and potatoes. He also pointed out several potted plants he was growing, such as the magical Lucky Lily that would bring good luck to Gnomeland.

But instead of doing it carefully, Sebastian kept spearing the potatoes with his fork, and before he knew it, several potatoes were skewered on the prongs of the fork. Hoping Geldof wasn’t watching, he quickly put them back in the earth and covered them with soil. He wondered what to do next.

I know, he thought, maybe my luck will change if I steal the Lucky Lily.

He proceeded to take the potted plant from its position by the vegetable patch to a secret hiding place in the pine forest.

There, he thought, no one will find you in this cave by this mighty pine tree.

And he left the plant there, feeling pleased with himself for the first time that day.

My luck will change and then everything will go right for me, and no one will tell me off.

But he was wrong......
